As we look back to 2017, there have been many ups and downs. For some, this may have been their best year so far; for others not so much.
This blog post is a very quick and simple one. Break the Chains challenges all of you to this new years resolution: fight for one social issue. Whatever it may be that is personal you, fight for it. Whether it be tackling Islamophobia, racism, homophobia, discrimination, prejudice; whatever it may be, we challenge you to stand up and make your voices heard. Let 2018 be a year where great strides are made for society as a whole.
2017 saw a mixture of results in terms of social issues. In some countries, progress was made in creating dialogue with people from different backgrounds and beliefs, and legalising same-sex marriages. In other countries, the division between people of different religions, skin colour, class and sexuality grew increasingly as the year had gone on.
Break the Chains will be working even harder this year to break down barriers between communities and begin to engage with more people, organisations and change perceptions one person at a time. We wish you all the best for 2018 and hope it is a successful year for you all.
